The eHARF World Cultures database is the definitive resource for exploring world cultures. You can connect to this database by clicking on the provided link. Use your Canvas/MyTMCC login to access content from home. 

Once at the eHARF web page click the brown Browse Cultures button at the top of the page. 

At the next screen in the Filter Index search box type Afghanistan.

A list of the diverse ethnicities of Afghanistan next appears:

Pashtun, Ghorbat, Hazara, Kyrgyz, Tajiks, Turkmens, Uzbeks, Baluchi, Turks

The two ethnic groups relevant to the Kite Runner story is the relationship between the Pashtun and Hazara.
